Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has a lot happening in Urban Agriculture!

Thanks so the hard work of the Urban Agriculture Activity Plan Implementation Team, a draft community garden policy is now available for a 45 day public review and comment period!

Also, on November 29, 2017, the Board of Commissioners adopted an amendment to PB2-2 (Molesting Vegetation), which officially goes into effect on February 28, 2018, allowing park visitors to pick from approved fruit and nut tree species in certain areas in the parks.  For more detail on approved tree species and where you can now legally pick, please see the following information sheet:

Finally, at the March 1 Urban Agriculture Activity Plan Implementation Team meeting, participants will be asked to share ideas and insights about urban agriculture related programming (activities, events, classes) that would hold the most appeal in their neighborhood parks.  MPRB will look to pursue this programming in collaboration with community partners and welcome meeting participants to bring suggestions for potential partnership opportunities.
