Sheridan Memorial Park Improvements project update

On September 19, 2017, the concept plan for Sheridan Memorial Park Improvements was approved by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB). (Resolution 2017-279). This concept was developed through engagement with the community throughout 2016 and 2017.

On November 1, 2017, The MPRB approved a Resolution for an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Damon Farber Associates, Inc. for additional Design and Engineering Services for Park Improvements at Sheridan Memorial Park. This amounts to an addition of $35,000 for a new contract total of $149,900. (Resolution 2017-330). This amendment reflects an increase of project funding by $500,000 with additional funds for landscape, architectural, and civil engineering design services for the park improvement project.

Since this time MPRB and Damon Farber and Associates, Inc. has been developing the preferred concept into design and construction plans. It is expected that the project will be bid in early 2018, and pending approval, construction should begin in spring or summer of 2018.
