Powderhorn Park spring construction update

Last fall, the playground near Powderhorn Recreation Center was renovated and construction began on the Powderhorn wading pool as part of an effort to upgrade old play equipment at Powderhorn Park. This spring, work resumes the week of May 8 when construction begins on the two playgrounds in the northwest and northeast areas of the park.

Starting next week, after the MayDay Parade, the playgrounds near 10th Avenue S and 14th Avenue S are expected to close for about six weeks. When the playgrounds reopen later this summer they will contain new play equipment many community members helped choose during the project’s planning process last year. Click the link below to see drawings of the new equipment coming soon to both playgrounds.

Please note weather and other factors can impact the construction schedule. Park users are asked to stay away from the construction site while work continues on this project. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board would like to thank the public for its patience during any inconveniences caused by construction.
