MPRB staff is in the process of rehabilitating the golf course, which was damaged extensively by flooding in 2014 and has not been open since. The rehabilitation follows the configuration of the existing course. Rototilling and seeding of fairways is complete in areas, currently beginning the rototilling and seeding of the rough areas affected by flooding. Tree removal (about 80 trees) of flood affected trees will be occurring this fall. Bunker restoration and cart path work will begin in the early spring 2017. Fully “growing in” the new turf areas is required to give the roots a strong hold and will require several months of establishment during the first part of 2017. Recent rains have not had any impact to the course. Staff projects an opening date for the course of mid- to late-summer 2017.
