CAC Meeting #2 Summary


This summer the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) launched the Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail Master Plan! This new project will set a vision and priorities for future park improvements and management along the trail for the next 20-30 years.

The planning process will be guided by a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) that has been appointed by various neighborhood organizations and elected officials. Trail users are encouraged to attend two upcoming CAC events in August:

Tour the Creek!

Date: Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018
Time: 9 am-1 pm
Location: Begins and ends at Minnehaha Pavilion (near Sea Salt Eatery and the Falls)
About: MPRB staff is hosting a van tour of the creek for CAC members with some likely following along on bikes. The public is welcome to come along, but MUST RSVP in advance by emailing Madeline Hudek at mhudek@minneapolisparks.org. The tour will depart from the Minnehaha Park Pavilion at 9 am sharp and vans will return back to the pavilion by 1 pm.  Water and snacks will be provided.

CAC Meeting #2

Date: Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018
Time: 6-8 pm
Location: Lake Nokomis Community Center
Address: 2401 E Minnehaha Parkway
About: The main purpose of this meeting will be to describe and discuss various inventories of the creek: ecological, historical, racial disparities, stormwater-related concerns, etc.

Anyone is welcome to attend and there will be a public comment period.
