Lake Nokomis Shoreline Enhancement Update: Replacement of stormwater pipe near 53rd Street begins soon

Construction scheduled to take place between East Lake Nokomis Parkway and Lake Nokomis, beginning mid-November

Work is underway on the Lake Nokomis Shoreline Enhancement project

Nearly 4,800 linear feet of shoreline will be restored along the north and northeastern Lake Nokomis

Construction scheduled to begin along portions of the northern and eastern shoreline at Lake Nokomis

The work focuses on stabilizing eroded shoreline and naturalizing turf areas.

Regulatory approval received and work expected to begin this summer

The United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) have completed review of the Lake Nokomis Shoreline Enhancements project. Work on the development of the construction drawings is nearing completion. The consultant teams 85% review set of drawings was recently sent over to the U.S Army Corps of Engineers.
