In March 2012, the Park Board was presented with a Community Engagement Plan for the ATF master plan process. The plan recognizes the long-standing Above the Falls Citizen Advisory Committee (AFCAC) as the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for the ATF master plan update process.
Several public meetings were held 2012 and 2013 to provide community members with information about the plan and the process, and to provide opportunities for dialogue and comment. Individuals were encouraged to submit their comments throughout the master plan process.
We are also partnering with the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support to conduct an Above the Falls Health Impact Assessment. We are interested in how proposed changes to this area might affect you or your family's health and well being. The public was encouraged to participate in the online HIA survey. In July, 2013, the City of Minneapolis Health Department published a summary of the Above the Falls Health Impact Assessment.
A draft of the Regional Park plan was made available for public review and comment in June 2013. The Final Master Plan will be brought before both the Park Board and the City Council for approval at the conclusion of this community engagement process.
