Creative Arts Studio @ Powderhorn

Are you interested in Music Production, Engineering, Vocal Recording, or Videography? Then this is the program for you. Students will be taught by experienced staff who have had years of experience in the music industry! Students will be guided through the process of music producing, writing, recording and video production…with the end goal a release of their own song or project.

Topics include:

Music Production – Students will learn the basic aspects of production via Pro Tools software, which is the industry standard. We will teach students how to record, mix and master music. Sub-topics include beat creation, sampling, vocal recording, arranging as well as song writing and structure.

Sound Engineering – Students will learn the basic aspects of hardware, understanding the recording console, drum machines, samplers and all of the nuances involved in getting the best possible sound quality. In addition, students will learn how to produce an artist – everything from vocals to an actual sound recording. Sub-topics include sound tech, vocal coaching and how to set up a complete recording session.

Videography – Students will learn how to bring an artist’s vision to life via photography and videography, including how to edit video.

The overall goal is to introduce students to the arts as an option for further education and development, as well as the different career opportunities available within the entertainment field and especially within the music industry.
