Temporary diversion ramp and pipe removed from Lake Calhoun, caution advised

The City of Minneapolis Public Works Department, after consultation with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, will be removing a temporary pipe in early March that has been diverting stormwater from a outfall pipe in the Lagoon (between Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun) to the north shoreline of Lake Calhoun. In anticipation of removing the pipe, the City has removed a temporary cross-country ski ramp over the pipe this week. Due to standing water above the ice in the pipe and ramp areas, thin ice signs mark the areas affected. Cross-country skiers, walkers and anglers are urged to use caution.
