SUMMARY:Ice Lantern Making at Water Works Park
DESCRIPTION:Drop in for a cozy winter evening at Water Works Park and help light up the park with handmade ice lanterns! Park staff will teach participants how to create ice lanterns by filling ice molds\, setting lanterns in the park\, and lighting them as part of a shared winter display. Fire pits will be available to warm up and enjoy the glow as the lanterns illuminate the riverfront. An indoor space will also be open for participants to take breaks and stay warm. DESCRIPTION:We will bring the fun to you! Fun on the Run is a staffed\, portable recreation program that is scheduled at specific parks engaging youth and teens in fun activities. Bring your warm clothes\, hats and gloves and boots to play in the snow! The program is free to participate in on a drop-in basis; no pre-registration is required. Supervision is not provided before or after the designated program times. Ages: Youth Programs (18 and Under) Fee for Participants: Free Time: 3:30-5:30 PM Date: 1/17/2022 – 4/7/2022 Note: Fun on the Run is weather-dependent. It will not be held in the case of inclement weather. Fun on the Run will follow the MPRB Inclement Weather Policy\, which states youth programs and activities will be cancelled when the temperature reaches -10 degrees or windchill reaches -20 degrees. Staffing: 2 per site Activities: – Include experiences of sledding\, kick sledding\, snow soccer\, snow fort building\, build a snowman and more.
