About

Minneapolis Safety Camp is a three-day program for youth ages 8 – 11.

Minneapolis Police Officers, Firefighters, and recreation staff serve as counselors, teaching campers personal and social safety skills in a fun and exciting environment.

Safety Camp teaches participants safety education through games, demonstrations and hands-on activities in a fun camp setting. Recreation staff serve as camp counselors. Camp includes: t-shirt, water bottle, snacks, lunch and a goodie bag. Parents/grandparents/guardians are invited to join their camper for BBQ picnic lunch on Thursday, July 11, noon-1 pm. 

Camp Expectations

Campers are expected to exhibit behavior that shows respect for themselves and others. If behavior becomes a problem parents will be asked to pick up their child.

Waivers are required for the water day to go canoeing. You will receive the waiver in the camp packet prior to camp.

Parent/Guardian Pick Up and Drop Off

Parent/guardians who pick up their child will be asked to show their ID. If you will not be picking up your child from camp let staff know who will be coming to pick up the camper. Bussing is available from Whittier Park and North Commons Park.

Bus pick up times will begin at approximately 8 am and will leave Theodore Wirth at approximately 4 pm and complete all drop offs by 5:30 pm.
