Minneapolis Safety Camp is a three-day program for youth going into 2nd grade through 5th grade. Minneapolis Police Officers, Firefighters, and recreation staff serve as counselors, teaching campers personal and social safety skills in a fun and exciting environment.
Safety Camp teaches participants safety education through games, demonstrations and hands-on activities in a fun camp setting. Camp is action packed, and safety topics include water, bike, animal, bus, fire safety and more. Police, firefighters, and recreation staff serve as camp counselors. Parents/grandparents/guardians are invited to join their camper for BBQ picnic lunch on Wednesday, July 25, noon-1 pm. Camp includes: drinks, snacks, t-shirt and awards ceremony.
Campers are expected to exhibit behavior that shows respect for themselves and others. If behavior becomes a problem parents will be asked to pick up their child.
To go canoeing waivers are required. Staff will distribute on Monday at pick up and drop off times.
