Construction activities completed for this season

Construction paused until next spring due to the recent snow; parkway expected to reopen between 50th Street and Portland Avenue by end of the week

Due to the recent cold weather and snow, construction has wrapped up for the year on a project to improve safety for trail users and drivers along Minnehaha Parkway Regional Trail between Portland Avenue and Chicago Avenue.

Minnehaha Parkway has been closed between Portland Avenue S and E 50th Street since Oct. 3 to accommodate work on this project. That section of parkway is expected to reopen by the end of the week.

Temporary frontage road ‘no parking’ signs have been removed and permanent parkway signs will be installed soon. Trail paving, pavement marking, and landscaping will be completed next spring.
