The recreation center at Waite Park was constructed in 1977 adjacent to Waite Park Community School. It offers recreation programs for everyone, from infants to seniors, including cultural programs, sports, arts and social activities.
Many programs are in collaboration with Waite Park Community School and the Minneapolis Community Education Department, making it a great place for “one stop shopping.”
The recreation center offers a gymnasium, multi-purpose room, arts and crafts room, and meeting rooms for the community and private rental.
Historical Profile: More information about this and other parks is included in Parks, Lakes, Trails and So Much More, a richly detailed account of the histories of Minneapolis’ renown recreational system.
