Minneapolis Park Board leads by example with energy savings pilot project
The recreation center at McRae Park welcomes the outdoors in with skylights, tons of windows and a large open layout. The windows look out on the many fields, playgrounds, trees and gardens surrounding the center.
But don’t visit just for the views. The center offers a variety of programs for preschoolers to seniors. Participate in dance lessons, craft classes, book clubs, indoor playground, cards and more. Ask one of the friendly staff for a suggestion or information.
The center has over 7,500 sq. ft. and includes a full kitchen, large multi-purpose room, preschool room, a smaller meeting room and a comfortable lounge area.
Historical Profile: More information about this and other parks is included in Parks, Lakes, Trails and So Much More, a richly detailed account of the histories of Minneapolis’ renown recreational system.
