When winter settles in, lace up your skates or grab a hockey stick!

47 outdoor ice rinks at 22 parks citywide open in December as soon as ice conditions allow. Many offer separate rinks for general skating and recreational uses such as hockey, broomball and pond hockey.

Weather permitting, most rinks will remain open through February 18, 2013 with the following popular multi-rink complexes open until March 3, 2013: Bohanon, Lake of the Isles, McRae, and Van Cleve.

Warming Rooms & Free Loaner Skates

All outdoor ice rink locations feature warming rooms, and all except Nokomis offer free loaner skates available on a first come, first serve basis. Sizes and quantities vary by location.

2012/2013 Warming House Hours

All rinks (except Bryn Mawr, Lake of the Isles, Lake Nokomis): Monday-Friday 3-9 pm, Saturday 10 am-9 pm, Sunday noon-6 pm
Bryn Mawr: Monday-Thursday 6-10 pm, Saturday-Sunday 12:30-4:30 pm
Lake of the Isles: Monday-Friday 3-9 pm, Saturday 9 am-9 pm, Sunday 10 am-6 pm
Lake Nokomis: Monday-Thursday 5-9 pm, Saturday-Sunday 12:30-3:30 pm
Minneapolis School Release Days: Feb. 18: noon-9 pm

Ice Skate & Hockey Stick Donations

The MPRB welcomes donations of ice skates and hockey sticks that are in good condition. Call or stop by your local recreation center for drop-off information.

Indoor Skating Facilities

Parade Ice Garden
Parade Ice Garden has three rinks that are open year round to people of all ages, interests and abilities. Parade Ice Garden hosts skating events and competitions and offers ample parking, lockers and spectator seating as well as public skating and open hockey. Northeast Ice Arena
