Nature in the Neighborhood
School Age Nature Programs Fall 2010

Unless otherwise noted, these programs are for six to 12 year olds.

Nature in the Neighborhood: Harvest Time
For 6-12 year olds. 1 hr sessions – 4 weeks.

    Fall is a time of harvesting gardens, fresh food and getting ready for winter. Learn how people throughout history got ready for winter and took advantage of the bountiful fall harvest. There will be stories, games, and crafts that get you thinking about what it takes to grow & eat food from Minnesota. Make and take home seasonal fall treats and creative projects. Lots of hands on fun!

Nature in the Neighborhood: City Creatures
For 6-12 year olds. 1 hr sessions – 4 weeks.

    There are squirrels, crows, and pigeons everywhere, but did you know there are also foxes, beavers, and herons living in Minneapolis? Explore the seen and unseen wildlife of the city. There will be games, crafts and even a visit from a live Minneapolis animal.

Nature in the Neighborhood: Naturalist Round Up
For 6 -12 year olds. 1 hr sessions – up to 8 weeks.

    This program is meant for parks where kids hang out but don’t sign-up for classes. Naturalists will “round up” available kids for fun, hands-on activities and games. Topics will vary based on the kids’ interest and age. No minimum number of children required for this program.
