Sailing Lessons

Have fun learning the basics of sailing through the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board’s (MPRB) adult and youth sailing lessons are held at Lake Harriet. Participants learn the basics of sailing including tacking, gybing, knots, wind, boat rigging, and docking. Everyone gets to skipper the boat and trim the sails of a Lido 14 foot sailboat equipped with both a main and a headsail.

Lesson includes 4 classes and each sailboat will have one coach and up to three students. Life jackets are provided and lessons are held regardless of weather conditions. Walk-on registrations are permitted 20 minutes after the start of the first lesson if a registered camper does not show.
