Music and Movies in the Parks
Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of outdoor concerts and movies in Minneapolis parks. All are free, so bring family and friends, snacks, sunscreen, and a lawn chair or blanket.
Concerts in the Parks
Over 200 free outdoor concerts will take place May 27 through September 2 at Lake Harriet Band Shell, Minnehaha Park, Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, Bryant Square Park and Nicollet Island Amphitheater. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Grammy award-winning music producer, Andre Fischer, and Dakota Jazz Club will present jazz music in Minneapolis parks each Wednesday from 1-3 pm, and music education workshops for youth from 3-4 pm, from June 5 to August 28. Our Movies in the Parks series offers more than 60 free movies Monday-Saturday, June 7 through August 24. This year's movie themes include New Releases, For the Family, Black & White, Always Favorites, Action Adventures, Sci-Fi, Comedies, Minnesota Connection and Viewer's Choice.
