The second annual Autumn Music and Movies Series returns to the Lake Harriet Band Shell in September just in time to enjoy those early fall evenings. Produced by Vita.mn and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, the free series showcases and celebrates top Minnesota talent through concerts and films they have chosen.
Held each Friday from Sept. 3-24, the bands take the stage at 8 p.m. before introducing their selected film at approximately 9:15 pm.
Guests are encouraged to bring picnic baskets as well as blankets should the night become chilly (evenings this time of year typically can dip into the mid-50s). Guests are also encouraged to donate a blanket on-site to Youthlink, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and community “hub” for youth who are homeless, struggling with their education, or need advocacy to continue life’s path.
Food and drink and artists’ merchandise will be available for purchase. All announcements and updates will be made at www.vita.mn concerning inclement weather, cancellations and venue changes so be sure to check the site often.
Partners and sponsors of the series include Radio K, Kowalski’s, The Bakken Museum, Chef Shack, Chipotle, Schmitt Music and Star Limousine
