Okay, it may not be the beaches of Florida, but kids ages 6-12 years can go on Spring Break excursions to Minneapolis’ neighborhood and regional parks. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation (MPRB) offers three Nature and Adventure Camps during the Minneapolis Public Schools Spring Break, March 29-April 1.
The four-day camps at Linden Hills, Pearl Park and Webber Park explore the neighborhoods and other parts of the city. Activities include fishing, outdoor games, walks, hiking or snowshoeing, the MPRB’s version of The Amazing Race, and a field trip. Participants learn to use maps and compasses, build shelters and explore nature in the neighborhood. A healthy snack is provided each day. Warm clothing, winter boots and rain gear may be necessary for the camps.
