MPRB will begin taking reservations for sailboat buoys and canoe and kayak racks on Feb. 1, 2010
 
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will begin taking applications for sailboat buoys and canoe and kayak racks beginning Feb. 1. Applications will be accepted at the MPRB Customer Service Office or online. Rack assignments will begin on April 2, 2010. Any applications received after April 1 will be considered for the second round of assignments. The public drawings for priority of buoy assignments will be held in April. Details of the drawings will be announced in January.

Over 430 canoe and kayak racks are available at locations across the Chain of Lakes and Lake Nokomis. Over 340 sailboat buoys are available at Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun and Lake Nokomis.
