MPRB taking reservations for picnic shelters

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) now taking picnic shelter reservations for 2010 . Whether it’s a company picnic, family reunion or school field trip, MPRB picnic shelters are a great location to hold your special event.

Choose from 15 reservable picnic sites at park locations across the city. Picnic shelters can accommodate small and large groups – up to 250 people at some locations. Picnic areas include a variety of amenities to make your event convenient and fun! Features include electricity, large outdoor grills, running water, nearby parking, walking paths, playgrounds and restrooms. The picnic season lasts from Apr. 15 through Oct. 15, and reservable locations fill up quickly.

Several non- reservable picnic shelters are available at parks on a first come, first served basis, as are picnic areas offered at most regional and neighborhood parks.

For more reservation information, including guidelines, printable applications and online applications and reservations, visit www.minneapolisparks.org – Permits and Reservations – Picnics or call 612-230-6400.
