The newest dog park in the Minneapolis park system is located in the Camden neighborhood in an area commonly referred to as Victory Prairie. It is 2.62 acres at 47th Ave. N between Osseo Road and Russell Ave. Access is on the east side.
In order to use Off-Leash Recreation Areas, pet owners must first obtain a permit.
Victory Prairie Off-Leash Recreation Area was closed from August until mid-September 2012 for improvements. Site enhancements including new fencing (to prevent four-legged breakouts), park signage, a relocated ADA-compliant entrance, and brush clearing.
As always, we ask off-leash permit holders to be respectful of dog park neighbors and other users. Here are a few friendly reminders:
- Please keep dogs on their leashes between your vehicles and the entrance to the park
- Pick up after your dog, both inside and outside of the park
- Look for signs for Off-Leash Recreation Area (OLRA) parking along 47th Avenue on the south side of the park.
- Please avoid parking on Russell Avenue to ensure access for the elderly residents' caregivers.
