St. Anthony Park
  Map Location

St. Anthony Park is located in the St. Anthony East neighborhood at the intersection of Jefferson and Spring Streets NE. Over five and half acres in size, recreational attractions abound at St. Anthony. The park offers a totlot playground, a softball diamond, picnic tables, an open play field, and courts for tennis, basketball, hopscotch and four square. For youth programs and other activities, check out Logan Park, just two blocks north. Other parks nearby include Dickman Park and Beltrami Park.

The most notable landscaping feature at St. Anthony Park is ''May Mountain,'' an artificial hill built on the park’s south side. Named for area resident Jeanette May, the hill provides great sledding in the winter, and skyline views all year. The park was developed in 1974 as a playground for both neighborhood kids and students at the adjacent Webster Elementary School.

Historical Profile: More information about this and other parks is included in Parks, Lakes, Trails and So Much More, a richly detailed account of the histories of Minneapolis’ renown recreational system.
