Tucked away in a quiet little corner of the Whittier neighborhood, Clinton Field Park offers an open play field, two half-sized courts for basketball, a sand volleyball court, a totlot playground for kids and benches for relaxing. Located one block east of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA), the park can be found on the corner of Clinton Ave. S. and E. 25th St. Other nearby parks offering youth programs and other activities include Peavey Park and Whittier Park.
Clinton Field is one of three parks in the area that were developed as a result of Clinton Morrison’s donation of land to the park board. The other two parks are Washburn Fair Oaks Park located across E. 24th St. from the MIA, and Dorilus Morrison Park, named after one of the first park commissioners and the father of Clinton Morrison. Dorilus Morrison Park is better known as the home of the MIA, the park was created for the purpose of housing a museum.
