Hi-View Park is located at 2nd St. NE and 35th Ave. NE, just a block north of St. Anthony Parkway on Main St. in the Columbia Park neighborhood. The park’s scenic views, picnic area, benches and walking paths make it a great place to enjoy a leisurely day.
The recreational amenities at Hi-View Park include a full court for basketball, horseshoe pits, and two informal ball fields – one equipped with a backstop. The park’s large totlot playground and wading pool, featuring a turtle-shaped spray fountain, are favorite attractions for kids. Nearby parks include Marshall Terrace Park and Columbia Park. For youth programs and other activities check out Bottineau Park, Audubon Park and Waite Park.
Named for its high elevation and city skyline view, Hi-View Park was opened in 1952. Nearly four acres in size, the park was expanded slightly in 1961 when the recreation shelter was built. Other improvements to the park over the years include adding a wading pool in 1977 and new playground equipment in 1989.
