North Lake Calhoun / South Lake of the Isles Charrette

Lake Calhoun is part of the Chain of Lakes and is a popular site for fishing, wind surfing, swimming, sailing, canoeing, walking, jogging, biking and roller- and in-line skating. In 1999, the Chain of Lakes drew over 5.5 million visitors making the Lakes the second most popular visitor destination after the Mall of America.

The distance around Lake Calhoun is 3.2 miles for bicycles and skaters and 3.1 for walkers and runners.

Watercraft rental is available through Wheel Fun Rentals.

The Tin Fish Restaurant is located in the Calhoun Pavilion.

    Archery: Located at 3800 Richfield Rd. (southeast corner of the lake). Target bales are provided; bring your own bull's-eye sheets.

    Biking Path: 3.19 miles of designated paths

    Fishing Dock: 2 docks

    Pay Parking Lot: Automated parking pay stations, patron parking pass and some meters. Click for detailed parking information.

    Picnic Area: Non-reservable picnic area

    Sand Volleyball Court: Non-reservable

    Walking Path: 3.10 miles of walking paths

    Wells: 3 wells are located in the area: Lake St. and West Calhoun Blvd; 34th St. and East Calhoun Blvd; West Calhoun and Uptown Ave. at Thomas Beach.
