1996 Chain of Lakes Master Plan Summary
1996 Chain of Lakes Master Plan

The Chain of Lakes annually logs 5 million visits, making this area of our park system the most popular destination. What makes it such a hot spot? Residents and visitors enjoy biking, walking, jogging, rollerblading or skiing around five city lakes — Cedar Lake, Brownie Lake, Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet — attached by a 12-mile system of walking and biking paths. Each of the lakes is surrounded by parkland featuring a variety of amenities to enhance your visit. Find more information, maps and activities and a photo tour when you visit the Chain of Lakes byway district within the Grand Rounds.
