 The Chain of Lakes annually logs 5.5 million visits, making this area of our park system the most popular destination. What makes it such a hot spot? Residents and visitors enjoy biking, walking, jogging, rollerblading or skiing around five city lakes Cedar Lake, Brownie Lake, Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet attached by a 12-mile system of walking and biking paths. Each of the lakes is surrounded by parkland featuring a variety of amenities to enhance your visit.
