Creekview Park
  Map Location

Creekview Park and recreation center, located in the northwest corner of Minneapolis, is part of the Shingle Creek neighborhood within the larger Camden Community. The park is on the east bank of Shingle Creek, a 12-mile waterbed that is home to many small mammals and birds. Shingle Creek Park is on the west bank of the creek. The banks provide a natural environment for walking and biking paths. The bike path continues through Minneapolis and into Brooklyn Park. The two parks combined total 75 acres.

The playground features a 30' high slide (the only 3-story play structure in the Minneapolis park system), plus three individual slides, swings, a tot lot and a rock climbing structure. The park has a skateboard park, and athletic field #4 is a Minnesota Twins field.

Historical Profile: More information about this and other parks is included in Parks, Lakes, Trails and So Much More, a richly detailed account of the histories of Minneapolis’ renown recreational system.
