Located in Downtown Minneapolis off West Franklin Ave. and across from Kenwood School and Community Center, Kenwood Park is an attractive outdoor landscape. Named for its mass of trees and irregular topography, the park has an impressive collection of gently sloping hilltops making it an ideal location to view gorgeous sunsets on the horizon. It also provides stunning views overlooking Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun.
On any day of the week you’ll find people meeting their leisure needs: sports, running, jogging, walking, biking, reading, sunbathing and picnicking, to name a few. Others will stake a place in the grass to start their own games, such as cricket and bocce ball. With 32.7 acres of land there is definitely room to roam.
Stop by the community center to find out what programs are being offered and get involved today!
Kenwood Park serves the Kenwood-Isles neighborhood, a prestigious area featuring large Victorian, Tudor and Colonial-style homes.
A significant achievement in recent years was the two-year fund-raising and renovation project of the Kenwood Tennis Courts, MPRB's largest bank of public tennis courts. The project was the result of a unique partnership between the MPRB, the USTA and the Kenwood Isles Tennis Association’s “Support The Courts” organization.
Historical Profile: More information about this and other parks is included in Parks, Lakes, Trails and So Much More, a richly detailed account of the histories of Minneapolis’ renown recreational system.
