Picture your wedding in the Lyndale Park Rose Garden, overlooking Minnehaha Falls, atop Wedding Hill in Theodore Wirth Park, or at the foot of the Stone Arch Bridge in Father Hennepin Bluffs Park. These sites and more are available to make your outdoor wedding truly unique and memorable.
The Minneapolis Park System also offers many options for reception sites, from the Nicollet Park Pavilion to neighborhood recreation center.
For those planning a wedding within the Minneapolis Park System, please keep the following in mind:
A permit is required to schedule a wedding in the park system.
All wedding permit applications are taken on a first-paid, first-served basis.
A completed application must be submitted and appropriate fee must be paid before a site and date will be reserved or a permit issued. Applications can be taken by phone, online or by paper form.
No refunds will be given once a wedding permit has been issued.
Wedding permits are issued for 3 hour time blocks only.
Your permit guarantees that no other wedding or event is scheduled at the same time in the same location as yours.
A permit does not guarantee exclusive use of the park area for your event. There will be other people using the park, but they are usually considerate of your needs and move off from the immediate area.
Parking fees are not included in the cost of the wedding permit. If you do not already have a Minneapolis Park Board annual parking permit, you pay an hourly rate at parking station machines or parking meters. Daily parking for guests can be purchased in advance from our Customer Service office.
The Cowles Conservatory Palm Room in the Sculpture Garden will be available for rental as a back-up site for ceremonies in case of inclement weather.
