Recycle Run

Tuesdays March – April 2014

Indoor Movie Series | 6pm | Green Central Gym
February films are in honor of Black History Month.

Saturday, April 12

McRae Bunny Brunch | 10am – noon | McRae
Brunch, jazz band, craft for the kids and egg hunt. Activities and egg hunt admission is free. Brunch fee: $6 for adults, $4 for kids – includes eggs, sausage, fruit, juice and coffee. All ages.

Van Cleve Spring Egg Hunt | 11am – 1pm | Van Cleve
Egg hunt for various age levels, face painting, egg decorating and baskets, tissue paper flowers and spin art.

Friday, April 18

Logan Tiny Tot Egg Hunt | 10 – 11:30am | Logan
Entertainment, art projects, treats and an egg hunt.

Flashlight Egg Hunt | 7:30 – 9pm | Creekview
Bring your flashlight! Registration not required. Admission is free.

Saturday April 19

Minneapolis Recycle Run | 9am–noon | Lake Harriet
The Recycle Run 5K, 10K, and Kids' Run benefiting Minneapolis parks take place at Lake Harriet.

Get Up and Be Green! | 10am – noon | Luxton
Ice cream to be served after the cleanup.

Sibley Bunny Brunch and Big Egg Hunt | 9:30am – 12:30pm | Sibley
The bunny brunch will be served from 9:30am to 11am. Activities include: egg coloring, scavenger hunt, art projects, golden egg hunt, face painting and more.

Kenwood Annual Spring Egg Hunt | 10 – 11:30am | Kenwood
Fantastic egg hunt for three age levels: 2-3 year olds, 4-5 year olds and 6-8 year olds. Face painting, arts and crafts, entertainment and a visit from Peter Rabbit.

Kenny Spring Egg Hunt | 10 – 11:30am | Kenny
Enjoy an Egg Hunt, Caricature, Arts and Crafts and continental breakfast. The Egg Hunt will begin at 11 am sharp.

Spring Fling | 10 – 11:30 a.m. | Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Cookie decorating, basket making, egg hunt with prizes, entertainment and a petting zoo. Light refreshments will be made available while supplies last. Admission is $2 per person. No registration required. All ages.

Windom NE Bunny Party and Egg Hunt | 10am – noon | Windom NE
Treats and fun entertainment for the entire family. Carnival games, adult egg toss, children's egg hunt and more!

Whittier Spring Egg Hunt | 10 – 11:30am | Whittier
Face painting, a craft project, photos with the bunny and an egg hunt!

Minne-Hop-Hop Family Egg Hunt | noon – 3 p.m. | Minnehaha Falls
Crafts, face painting, moonwalk, petting zoo, food for sale and egg hunt (bring your own baskets). $3 fee.

Earth Day
This day of service encourages life-long commitment to the environment through volunteer experiences and environmental education. Find your park on the full list of all Earth Day Cleanup sites!

May Day Parade and Festival | 11am – 7pm | Powderhorn
In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater produces the internationally acclaimed Mayday Parade and Festival.

Wednesday, May 14

Arbor Day
This city-wide Spring event reminds everyone about the importance of trees and how we can take care of them.

Friday, May 16

Waite Park Community Carnival | 5:30 – 8pm | Waite Park
Rides, games, food, prizes and lots more. Held rain or shine.

Saturday, May 17

Plant Swap | 11am – 12:30pm | Lyndale Farmstead
Come and meet other gardeners to get planting experience! Bring what you can spare, take what you can use.

Sunday, May 18

Linden Hills Festival | 10:30am – 5pm | Linden Hills
Kiddie Parade at 11am Bike decorating for the parade begins at 10:30am. Enjoy games, music entertainment and activities.

Wednesday, May 21

Bird Diversity | 9am – noon | Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden
We will search within the Garden in the three habitats we have here and outside of the Garden visiting ponds and Wirth Beach looking for residents and migrants. After visiting each location and tallying the birds seen and heard, we will return to Garden to analyze our data calculating species richness and diversity of each site visited.

Thursday, May 22

Memorial Concert | 7 – 9pm | Victory Memorial Flag Pole
VFW Ritual Squad performance at 7pm Enjoy melodies from the Robbinsdale City Band.

Friday, May 30

Ice Cream Social | 5 – 8:30pm | Pratt School – across the street from Tower Hill Park
This is the only day of the year that the "Witch's Tower" across from Pratt School is open.

June 2014 Events

Tuesday, June 3

Bryant Square Kickoff Celebration for Summer Concert Series | 6 – 8pm | Bryant Square
Music, ice cream, popcorn and face painting will all park part of the festivities for the evening. Bring a lawn chair, blanket and picnic.

Thursday, June 5

Fuller Park Ice Cream Social | 6 – 8pm | Fuller
Entertainment, games and food.

June 6-8

Urban Birding Festival | Theodore Wirth
A full weekend for all birding enthusiasts.

Saturday, June 7

McRae Neighborhood Summer Celebration | 11am – 3pm | McRae
Food for purchase, pony rides, live entertainment, inflatables to jump around in, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts will be on hand for some quick creativity.

Monday, June 9

Bryant Square Ice Cream Social | 6 – 8pm | Bryant Square
Live music, ice cream, face painting, art projects, moonwalk and more.

Corcoran Ice Cream Social | 6 – 8pm | Corcoran
Ice cream will be provided by the park and inexpensive grilled burgers, hotdogs and chips will be available for purchase. We will also have sidewalk art for the whole family. The Corcoran Music Program will perform during the event and we will be showing a Movie in the Park at dusk.

Tuesday, June 10

Creekview Ice Cream Social | 6 – 8:30pm | Creekview
Music, games, prices, good, sundaes, moon walk and face painting.

Friday, June 13

Harrison Park Cookout | 2 – 5pm | Harrison
Come and join the staff and bring in summer where you can meet and make new friends.

Summer Kick-Off and Family Fun Night | 6:30 – 8:30pm | Lyndale Farmstead
Live music, playground games and family entertainment. The Minneapolis Institute of Arts will be at the Kick-Off with an outdoor art project for children and parents.

Satuday, June 14

National Get Outdoors Day | noon – 5pm | Powderhorn
Learn camping basics, cooking skills, or try geocaching and fishing. Games and activities for the whole family.

Acoustic Music Festival | noon – 8pm | Loring
Music, food and fun! Musical guests include: Mikkel Beckmen & Steve Kaul, The High 48's, The Wild Goose Chase Cloggers, The Little Thunderbirds Mother Bango, The New Riverside Rambles, One Ukulele Frank Hornstein & Friends. Bring your blanket and lawn chair.

Ice Cream Social for Adults with Disabilities | 2 – 4pm | Windom S
Crafts, ice cream and entertainment.

Juneteenth | 10am – 5pm | North Mississippi

Sunday, June 15

Kids Fun Run | 8:30am | Lake Nokomis
The Minnesota Vikings host the Kids' Run and 5K fun run/walk around Lake Nokomis.
