MPRB and the Northeast Minneapolis community are designing new park improvements coming in 2015-2016!

Exciting new changes are coming to Northeast Park. Throughout 2014, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will work with the community to design a new recreation facility that meets community park and recreation needs. Additionally, the MPRB will move forward with construction on the first phase of field improvements identified in the Northeast Athletic Field Park Master Plan that was approved on January 8, 2014.

Community input will be sought throughout the entire planning process.

Community Engagement Plan

Project Phase / Closure of Park Facilities

The Recreation Center at Northeast Park was closed as of January 1, 2013 to allow for expansion plans at Yinghau Academy.

The master planning process for the park is complete. The next phase of community engagement will focus on the design of the recreation building. A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will be assembled for this phase of design. The CAC will help engage and represent park users and the surrounding community in the planning process.
