Minneapolis Riverfront Development Initiative

Transition from Design Competition to the Riverfront Development (Apr – Sept 2011)
The momentum, excitement and exposure of the opportunities created by the upper riverfront design competition are driving the next steps of the process which is implementation. During the April 6, 2011 Park Board meeting, Commissioners took action on transitioning the Minneapolis Riverfront Design Competition to the next stage, the Minneapolis Riverfront Development Initiative. The next six months will be the Design Development Strategy phase where we will be working closely with a series of committees and the public to create this strategy.
