The Comprehensive Plan calls for the “development of activity plans that outline the delivery goals, benefits, facilities, operations, and maintenance required to provide each major recreation activity (or group of similar activities) in the park system.” It further states that the plans should be used “to guide capital improvement and facility maintenance programs.”
The Court Sports Plan will set the programming and infrastructure guidelines for the following activities: tennis, outdoor basketball, volleyball (both grass and sand), badminton, shuffleboard, horseshoes, kato, futsal, and games such as toss’n’score, four-square and hopscotch.
In 2009, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) held a series of meetings to hear from the public about court sports. Future input opportunities will be posted here.
