Minneapolis Recycle Run 5K, 10K, and Free Kids Run

Time: Kids Run–8:45am | 10K–9am | 5K–9:05am
Location: Lake Harriet

Join us for the Minneapolis Recycle Run 5K, 10K Run, and FREE Kids Run on Saturday, April 19. The 5K and 10K runs are a chip-timed event. Youth 11 and younger can participate in the free half-mile kids run. All participants will receive the official Recycle Run t-shirt with registration. The event benefits the Minneapolis Earth Day Clean Up.

Participants are encouraged to bring in used running shoes and shirts to donate for recycling.

What is the cutoff day/time for the 5K, 10K, & Free Kids Run?

Pre-registration for the 5K, 10K and Kids Run closes April 15, 2014 at 11:59 pm. Kids Run participants must pre-register (no race-day registration).

Where do the races start and end?

Both races start and end near the Lake Harriet Bandshell.

Where should I park?

Street parking is available in the neighborhoods surrounding Lake Harriet.

What time will the race day registration begin for the 5K and 10K?

Race Day registration will be available from 7:45-8:45 a.m. at the Lake Harriet Bandshell parking lot.

Do the kids run, 5K, and 10K all start at 8:45?

Kids Run–8:45am | 10K–9am | 5K–9:05am

When and where is packet pick up?

Participants can register and check-in at the Lake Harriet Bandshell parking lot at 4135 Lake Harriet Parkway beginning at 7:45am.

Will there be post-race refreshments?

Stick around after the race and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

Is there bag check?

No gear check provided.

What will participants receive with their registration?

All pre-registered participants will receive an official Recycle Run t-shirt and other giveaways. Limited number of t-shirts will be available for event-day registration.

Minneapolis Earth Day Clean Up

Proceeds from the Minneapolis Recycle Run help support the annual Minneapolis Earth Day Clean Up which draws attention to our lakes and river and the effects individual actions have on urban water quality. The Earth Day Clean Up is the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's largest annual volunteer event and one of the largest community service events in Minneapolis. In 2012, more than 1,500 volunteers removed over 9,000 pounds of trash from our neighborhoods, parks and watersheds. More information for the Clean Up can be found at
